As part of its program to develop the capabilities of the staff of the sub-libraries of the University, the Central Library at Nahrain University held a workshop on cataloging and classification under the title (descriptive cataloging), which was given by the president of the oldest programmers (Wassan Mohammad Tawfiq), which lasted for two days for the period 6-7 / 3 / 2019.

The aim of the workshop is to introduce library administrators at the university to the modern methods used in descriptive cataloging and describing it so that it can be distinguished from all other works and other editions of the same work in addition to the definition and description of the physical composition of the work of the main entrance field. The main entrance may be under the name of the author, Conference or symposium.

The workshop included training the attendees on how to use the traditional paper card in addition to the process of introducing it electronically according to the policy of the central library in data preservation, which contributes greatly to the ease of searching and presenting information clearly to the researcher.

It is noteworthy that the central library at the University of Nahrain has established many courses and workshops, including workshops on the system (koha) library management.
